Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Brigid ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Brigid mobile application (the "App"). Brigid is operated by Dunatechs. Contact: contact@brigidcycle.com.
If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the App.
- Local-first: by default, your health tracking data is stored on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
- No account required: you can use the App without creating an online account.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Optional features may transmit limited information off-device, such as:
- Research Contribution (opt-in): uploads de-identified contribution data to our research database.
- Subscriptions (optional): purchase status is processed by Apple/Google and may be managed by a subscription provider (such as RevenueCat).
1. Information You Provide in the App
Depending on how you use the App, you may enter:
- Cycle and fertility tracking data: period dates, bleeding/flow, cervical mucus, basal body temperature, intercourse, symptoms, and related notes.
- Pregnancy and wellbeing tracking data (if you use those features): due date, health measurements (for example weight and blood pressure), symptoms, and plans or checklists you create.
- Health screening responses and results (for example PCOS, thyroid, endometriosis, perimenopause, PMS/PMDD questionnaires).
- Fasting data: fast start/end times, preferences, goals, and related logs.
- Preferences and settings: reminders, language, measurement units, and other app settings.
- Security features (optional): PIN unlock settings. We store a hashed PIN and your preferences.
- Optional profile information (stored locally on your device), such as a name.
2. Information Related to Purchases (Optional)
If you purchase a subscription or other paid access:
- The Apple App Store or Google Play processes your payment. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- We may receive or access subscription status and entitlement information (for example: product purchased, renewal/expiration status, and transaction identifiers).
- We may use a subscription management provider (such as RevenueCat) to help manage purchases and entitlements. That provider may process purchase information and device and app identifiers as described in its privacy policy.
3. Research Contribution (Optional)
If you opt in to Research Contribution:
- The App uploads de-identified contribution data to our research database (currently hosted using Supabase).
- The contribution process is designed to remove or transform direct identifiers (for example: converting calendar dates to relative cycle days, excluding free-text notes) and to use a random persistent anonymous contributor ID (PACID) stored on your device.
- De-identification reduces re-identification risk, but no method can guarantee that re-identification is impossible.
You can stop contributing at any time in Settings. Previously uploaded contributions may be retained for research and audit purposes and may not be removable if they cannot be linked back to you.
4. Support Communications
If you contact us (for example by email), we will receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address and message content.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide core features (tracking, predictions, and insights).
- Personalize educational content and in-app guidance.
- Deliver reminders and notifications you enable.
- Generate reports and exports you request.
- Provide customer support and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage subscriptions and access to paid features.
- Improve the App, including through Research Contribution if you opt in.
6. Where Information Is Stored
- On-device: your App data is stored locally on your device (for example using local databases and device storage). If your device enables cloud backups, some data may be included in those backups.
- On our servers: we store Research Contribution uploads (if you opt in). We do not store your raw day-to-day health logs on our servers by default.
7. Sharing and Disclosure
We may share information:
- With your consent (for example: Research Contribution, or exports you initiate through your device share sheet).
- With service providers who help us operate parts of the App (for example: subscription management and research hosting).
- If required to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect users and the App.
8. Data Retention
- On-device data remains until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App (subject to device backup settings).
- Research Contribution data may be retained for research and audit purposes as described above.
9. Your Choices and Controls
- You can edit or delete logs in the App.
- You can disable Research Contribution in Settings (if enabled).
- You can manage notifications in the App and through your device settings.
- You can manage subscriptions through Apple/Google store settings.
10. Children's Privacy
Brigid is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" and may provide notice in the App for material changes.
